“COPE” Residents

COPE (Community Outpatient Pediatric Experience)

All of the physicians at A to Z Pediatrics are Clinical Instructors in Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine/St. Louis Children’s Hospital.  As such, they are honored to play a significant mentoring and teaching role in the residency training of young pediatricians.

Pediatric resident physicians have already completed medical school and earned their doctor of medicine (M.D.) degree.  They are currently engaged in the residency portion of their training in pediatrics.  This phase of training emphasizes the practical aspect of patient care and the acquisition of real-world experience under the guidance of senior (attending) physicians.  Part of this training includes the COPE program, which runs the entire length of their three-year residency.

The residents spend an average of one-half day each week in the office seeing patients with Drs. Eberhart, McGranahan, and Wagner.  Over the years the residents’ enthusiasm and caring have added a great deal to the practice.  We ask you to join us in welcoming them!
